HUMAN WELFARE & DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION is to be formed as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 2017, with the primary object “To provide immediate relief and support to individuals and communities affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and emergencies. Ensure access to essential services such as food, can water, shelter and healthcare during times of crisis……and to help individuals and small-scale enterprises for trade services and manufacturing activities by means of business awareness, counseling, meeting and arranging workshop trainings.” and other objects mentioned in Memorandum of Association and it (a) intends to apply its profits and income towards those objects and (b) prohibits the payment of any dividend or profit to its members (c) ensures that its objects and activities are not and shall not, at any time, be against the laws, public order, security, sovereignty and national interests of Pakistan. Our work is grounded in the commitment to the universality of human rights. Driven by diversity and founding our asks in evidence and experience, we take sides against poverty and injustice everywhere. Feminist approaches guide all our analysis, action, and interaction. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES & PRIORITIES
HW&DO will emphasize focusing on the following strategic objectives for the current strategy period (2019-2025) and all strategic priorities and actions are identified keeping these objectives in view.
- Strengtheningcitizen'ss voices and capacity building to demand just, democratic, transparent and accountable governance.
- Promoting communal harmony among the people of different religious and political denominations.
- Provision and improving governance of social services.
- Improving access of marginalized sections to the socio-economic opportunities for decent livelihood and realization of basic rights.
- Protecting lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities in disaster/conflict situations.
Organizational Structure
HU&DO has a democratic, transparent and participatory governance structure, which best assures an independent organization that is efficiently and effectively managed on scientific lines. The Memorandum of Association recommends a three-tier governance structure, comprising a 5 member General Body, a Board of Governors comprising of 85members and senior management team headed by the CEO. Significant features of the governance structure are its system of checks and balances and the leading role given to Partners’ Networks and Staff of the organization.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The organization manage its strategic affairs by the appointing the board of directors. The BOD our see the management of the organization by insuring the execution of policies and procedures, strategic direction, transparency and accountability. It also further supported by constitution of committees for different level which includes; program development committee, internal audit committee and general body membership review committee.
